lordv, i'm little confused here with "auto tubes" how different is it with extension tubes ? Due to limited budget, i am considering either canon EF 25 II Extension Tube or Kenko Auto Extension Tube set DG EF-S. which is the right one to go with my 50mm f1.8 (which might be upgraded to 50mm f1.4 later) ? thanks.

If you happen to get hold of them, these original EF extension tubes cannot be used with EF-S lenses, but since they have no optical elements they will work with the same EF lenses as the Mark II tubes. The Canon EF12 II and EF25 II Extension Tubes are not compatible with the following lenses: • EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye (now discontinued) • EF

An extension tube is a cost-effective hollow tube that increase magnification of subject / decrease minimum focus distance between lens and subject. It does not replace a macro lens, but works well for bringing smaller subjects closer.
Hello, I am looking for an extension tube for the RF system. I have the Extension Tube EF 25 II for the EF system that I use on a regular basis. As far as I know Canon does not offer one for the RF system at the present time.
